Here's what you need to know about Raise the Roof fundraising opportunities.
This year we are doing our annual Raise the Roof fundraiser differently. Skagit Habitat supporters are creating peer-to-peer fundraising pages to help raise the critical funds needed to build our 40th home and beyond, in 2021. Teams and Individuals can choose to share stories or even participate in challenges to increase the engagement and donor support of our neighbors and friends. Please join us in making this our strongest fundraising campaign yet, proving that "together we build".
This fundraiser will allow everyone to participate at their own comfort level with options of participating from home or safely socially distanced with your fellow team members.
We welcome your support on any level, no team is required, and challenges are optional.
If you do bring a team, having captains can help establish overall goals and keep challenges organized for the group. Some teams or team sponsors may offer internal incentives to entice a little competition within their group.
Understanding how peer-to-peer works will help you make a bigger impact as you aim to help. The more people in your network, who learn of the fundraisers that are happening, and see your intent to help Habitat help others... the more "donate now" clicks we will find across the community. (more details below under Helpful Tips)
That's right, I wrote "fundraisers". This seems to be the part that confuses... throughout the Skagit Valley in June, we will see teams and individuals, helping create awareness and building up social media momentum for successful peer-to-peer campaigns, independently; each hoping to support Skagit Habitat for Humanity in achieving the end goal of $120,000.00 raised monies for our 2021 builds.
This is a big goal and we hope you will also share the social media links with your peers to make it all that much more meaningful to our community and successful for our families, under construction this year.
Your creativity is Welcome here!
A trophy cup will be awarded to our highest earning team and is presented this year by our Trophy/Foundation Sponsor, Marathon Petroleum - our Anacortes Refinery and is to be handed off in years to come, to future winners of our Raise the Roof fundraising campaigns!
Want to get involved, but aren't prepared to build your own team?
REGISTER to Join another Team or sign up to share as an Individual (no team necessary to support)! Check out the HOW TO PARTICIPATE tab for instructions on creating a Page.
HELPFUL TIPS
Use a team challenge as a platform to share on social media with friends, family, and fellow community supporters.
Each team or individual can come up with a unique challenge or just set a goal to fundraise for Skagit Habitat for Humanity and families in Skagit County (and any Individual within a Team, will also set their specific goal/portion of the grand total the group is shooting for).
Share your team's unique challenge on social media and gather supporters around your team's challenge.
This is super easy to share on your social media platforms, using the buttons on your own personalized Team Page.
Anyone can donate to your Team or Individual Pages, without needing to Register at all by clicking the donate button and if they prefer to write a check, they are welcome to mail or drop to us here at the Skagit Habitat Store: 1022 Riverside Dr. Mount Vernon, WA 98273. Be sure to have your donors Notate your Team Name on their Memo line, for us to apply their gift to your fundraiser page.
